Well, well, well.... nearly all of the Favourites must have been knocked out....

Who's gonna be the Golden boy or girl this year then?

Should be an interesting few days..... ;)

Yup, only 2 grand slam winners in the ladies left. I hope Na Li can have another GS in her kitty.

The men have 3. So far both Novak and Andy look steady.

Will Novak retain the GS grip of the big 3 or will Andy loosen it a bit more?

The lesser players are very dangerous at this stage too coz they have nothing to lose and will go all out.

3 more days and we'll know

As long as we get a few Good games out of them, that's ok..... (preferably quiet, no loud grunters please)

Quiet Please, Game On.

:)

PS.

It's slightly confusing if you don't know who's playing just now....

Mcn + Mcn v

Mce + Mce

Sis has just explained that it is the McNamara & McNamee against the McEnroe brothers.

Whew!...Jeez.....

Well, today's game for Sis is the Ferrer vs Del Potro match.

She's not too bothered about Murray, lol

Besides, he may be suffering from the 'Cameron Curse'

Our PM said last year that Murray would be the favourite to win.... wrong....

Yesterday he said that "It's been a few grey days lately, but there is a chance of the Sun coming out for a Murray win"

Hmm, better be prepared for some rain and another loss?...

Good to see that the men finally survived the rut.

The top 2 should make for a good final.

Delpo is getting closer and closer to his 2009 form. Would be amazing to see him join the party in the coming months.

New Wimby queen in a few hours.

The Smiling Assasin vs the...er...Serious Slugger?

Something tells me the crowd will favour the German, but they all appreciate a good show.

Too bad the Indian challenge in the doubles ended in the semis. Good run by Bopanna and Rojer.

Yep, as long as we get a good game out of them. That's what really matters.

Best of Luck to all.

;)

Well, not a bad game from the girls there, no excessive grunting either.... Great game.

Shame about the German girl getting a little upset, but it's a big game for all involved, emotions are bound to run away with you sometimes. She did well. :)

Yeah, so France gets an unlikely Wimbledon champion in the extra-focussed Bartoli.

Pity Lisicki got too overwhelmed by the occasion.

As a commentator said, she isn't used to being the favourite and thrives as an underdog.

After beating top draw names like Radwanska [#4], Williams [#1], Stosur [#14], Schiavone, Kanepi, she suddenly found herself in a different position against the unfancied Bartoli [though she is ranked 8 placed above her]. Great run.

And another for the stat books is that Bartoli is the first champion to not have played a single top 10 player en route to the title.

Oh, and, Vis, how is your sister doing now after watching the scot run away with the title?  :D

Is she all right?  :P

Murray did play a fantastic match from start to finish. He just believed he could do it.

The same mental block Djokovic overcame in 2011 after years of trailing Rafa and Roger.

Hehe, he was clearly rattled by the fight Murray was giving him.

Reminded me of Roger's body language during his early days against Rafa.

So 3 majors and 3 champions again.

Would be so awesome if Roger can come back and claim the US Open once again.

I'm not ready yet to count him out of the big 4. [He slipped to #5 for the first time in a decade in the rankings  :( ]

Lol mate, you don't want to know what she said about Murray winning the final... I had to hide behind the sofa....

Every so often she had a quick peek to see how they were doing and switched straight over again,

$%%X{} is still winning.... Grrr...

Ah well, It's over for this year... :)

I'm sure she was. RF has ahd a pretty strong beginning to 2014.

Wawrinka's emergence also should buoy him on further to retain the Swiss #1 tag.

Indian Wells has a tough draw, could meet Stan soon

Hehe, anthyp and Colaro, I suggest to change this thread's title to TENNIS, so we can continue general tennis talk right here instead of a new thread :D

Indian Wells is heating up with some amazing hot shots.

Dimitrov - unbelievable get!

Stepanek hustle against Nadal!

Roger's doubles reflexes

Enjoy :D

And to mark the occasion of this thread-renaming, PHF proudly presents the first round of Ping-Pong. your players are:-

Vis (give it some welly) and Liberty (welly no, give 'em hell!)
vs
Anthyip (I have a cunning plan) and Colaro (yeah, beat the living daylights out of 'em, har har)

Nik will be the referee in this crucial opening round
and if Frank turns up, we may even have a scorekeeper, lol

Nik:
Anthyp & Colaro win the coin-toss, which colour do you want?

Federer has been beaten by Djokovic….

Mind you, it's better than being beaten by Murray... :P

Ah well, Next please..
