Ah, movies is a perfect topic for me :D

Other autism related movies that come to mind that I would recommend are:

Snow Cake: Excellent performances by Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman.
A drama focused on the friendship between a high-functioning autistic woman and a man who is traumatized after a fatal car accident.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0448124/

Forrest Gump: I guess most of you have watched it. Tom Hanks exemplifies the oversimplification of life through the mind of an autistic man. Of course, this one takes way more cinematic liberties but is very well executed.

Yes, all good films in their own right.
I picked Temple, because it's more of a shall we say, biographical film.

It seemed pretty drawn out to me also. I didn't like it. But Mcqueen lovers think its great for some reason. If you want to watch a good Mcqueen movie I suggest you try one of these.
If you like westerns at all see the magnificent 7. Probably one of the better westerns from that time.

if you like war movies like world war 2 try the great escape. Tons of excellent supporting performances and is just a fantastic movie. I think its what they based the comedy hogans heros on but the great escape isn't a comedy though it does have some levity to it.

Papillon was one of his best. that has dustin hoffman in it also. After the great escape papillon was my favorite McQueen movie

If you like 60's cop shows at all then bullit is good. I think it was a little slow but over all a good movie

Also private;
if you were attracted to that move because of the time period and the theme behind it you may want to try "the sting" It was a very good robert redford movie about con men and gambling. In fact; noting this forum it is one everyone here should watch. because its about con men trying to con bigger con men :lol:

Bullit is a favorite for people who like detective and cop movies. It wasn't my style but I liked it better than dirty harry. The car chase was really cool. in fact its still know as one of the best chase scenes ever.\

I have not seen magnificent 7 in a long time. I think I'm gonna see if its on net flix and watch it with you. I think it was the western adaptation of a japanese film called the 7 magnificent samari. I figured that out, not because I watched the japanese film but because I saw an anime called the 7 samari which was based on the japanese film but much more sci fi /fantasy like. The theme was the same as the magnificent 7.

Now I can't wait to watch it. sure hope its on netflix. When do you think you are going to see it?

I would but I don't know how. Unfortunately net flix only has it available on dvd so i won't be watching it either. To get the dvd I would have to pay a monthly fee and right now I only have whats left of my free trial to stream from my computer.
Its a real bummer.
