Hi guys,

I've been a member of this forum for a considerable while and though I honestly cannot say I "know" any of you, I have become used to the familiar and friendly "names" of our forum members, whether it's the usual HYIP discussions, contests, or sharing thoughts on sports and faith, and feel we all can share our thoughts freely.

The recent conflict in Palestine has been been very disturbing and I would like to start this thread to know what our members feel about the conflict.

Social media is splashed with gruesome and graphic images and on-ground videos of the massacre of civilians in Gaza, and thousands of people and organisations in many countries have come out onto the streets protesting the unequal and disproportionate "war" in Palestine. Several countries as well as the United Nations have condemned Israel's offensive on civilians as "crimes against humanity"....YET there is no respite and the killings continue unabated. YET the biggest world powers [USA] will not condemn such atrocities because it goes against their business interests with Israel.

YET even some of the biggest names like Rihanna and Dwight Howard will be bullied into apologizing for their tweets in support of the oppressed...because their bosses control the money strings that are somewhere related to Israeli sympathisers...

YET it has once again been shown that ultimately, all international policy is based on cold-blooded capitalism and business interests rather than facts.

This is indeed very depressing that while we sleep in our snug sheets and eat with our families, a section of humanity is being systematically exterminated. It is even more shocking that it comes from a people who themselves were subjected to mass murder by Hitler...I agree it's the scenario was different in some ways, but the effect is similar in many ways too.

Israel says it is "defending" itself against hand held rocket fire, and continues to expand its land grabbing in Palestine against all international law.

Palestine wants freedom from its open air prison, where its borders are manned by Israel more than itself, where even basic amenities  have to be screened through Israeli soldiers to make their way into a "free" country. Even a democratically elected government is repeatedly quoted as "terrorists" and "militants" in the major media news coverage.

Here's another BBC article from yesterday - http://www.bbc.com/n...e-east-28397215

What are your opinions?

If this thread will lead to hate mongers and cannot meet the standards our forum has set over the years, it's better to delete it.

I say this because the images and messages in other forums are shocking.

I request the forum members to pray for peace and justice to the several thousand families that are going through hell.

:(  :(

Thanks for that Liberty. As you know the problem is not only in Palestine. Of course there is a real war there with hundreds of people dead but there is also war in Syria, Libya, Iraq and of course in Europe and I mean Ukraine.

It's sad and I am very scared because I think that all these "little wars" (little but with hundreds of people dead in every area - thousands in Syria) might expand.

No one should feel safe and out of this. We are all part of a big community and it doesn't mean anything if someone lives in USA, Brazil or Italy.

And THAT is the biggest crime of all. A world where money and power means more than people.

So sad....

i have a mixed feelings about the whole question... from one point of view i can say that the whole thing is simply crazy and that all the leaders of the world should force both parties to stop it all.

at the same time, i think that i am not in the correct position to have a strong opinion. we are speaking of an area where almost everyone grew up in a war scenario, almost everyone lost family members and friends. if that happened to me (to have my family killed by a missile or by a bomb, no matter from which side it is), how would i react? would i be inclined to say "ok, let's stop this madness" and ask for peace or would i be ready to wear a dynamite dress and make explode myself as near as possible my "enemies"?

i don't know, i can't answer because (luckily) my life has been totally different.

There are several videos of on ground situation by smaller media groups which I hear are now being targeted and most journalists are now not allowed to cover the crisis freely.

Many pictures and videos are too graphic to share :(

These couple of videos give a short summary of the problem for the uninformed.

Israeli settlements explained

If we google the history, the country was formed only in 1948 based on ancient biblical records in a way.

A partition was proposed by the UN in 1948. But over time Israel has continued building settlements on Palestinian land against international law.

On a different note, it's natural for a country to resist land grabbing by another.

What makes this case special is that this is not a battle of equals.

Israels has the world's most sophisticated weaponry while Palestine barely has any army or weapons...BECAUSE all its borders are strictly regulated by...you guessed it...Israel.

The Israeli controlled world media is making this sound as a battle of religions whereas it is actually a pure case of land and ethnic cleansing.

Thousands of Jews around the world have openly joined protests against this fascist regime all over the world.

People from all religions are protesting against this mass murder all over the world, but yet their governments seem to be mute.

What still fascinates and disgusts me seeing the news coverage in big media channels, is that MONEY controls the news and international policy of all countries.

Otherwise, why is nothing not being done against Israel for war crimes and disregard to UN mandates and resolutions?

Has anyone thought that while USA is after North Korea and Iran to stop their Nuclear programs, nobody questions Israel for having Nuclear weapons?  <_<

Sad...

Do you think internet brought positive effects on wars?

I do think its revolutionary comparing to some years ago, more and more situations like these are shown to the whole world bringing awareness and information to almost everyone.

You right about the big media channels, but I see these collapsing in further generations.
Internet brought free choice to individual user, even having big entities the niches are the ones that are emerging those.

20 years ago - 1994, the whole world was ignorant regarding many of these topics.
Basically since 2008 everyone has easy access to the internet, I see this as an collective awareness episode from earth habitants, and due to this it goes against humanity and natural principals to fight for unjustified cases in the future.

Im maybe just to positive here, but that's the way I see it. Although I am a sensitive person when watching these conflicts, gives me a enormous will to stop what I am doing and go help who is in need, and I think more than 50% of earth population are having the same.

All media talk about war between Israel and Gaza (or Hamas).
A war involves at least two armies in conflict!?
I only see in TV only one army, Israel army  well equipped and organized and the other side much poverty, misery and a bunch of men with rockets and Kalash and many civilians killed (mostly children)  :(
This is not war!!!!!!

It is a shame for the countries of Europe and Usa and UN  (civilized word?!)

UNITED NATIONS — Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said on Wednesday that “all available evidence” suggested that Israeli artillery had hit a United Nations school in Gaza full of civilians who thought they were in a safe zone.

“Nothing is more shameful than attacking sleeping children,” the secretary general told reporters in San Jose, Costa Rica, according to a transcript provided by his office. It was Mr. Ban’s strongest comments to date on attacks on United Nations installations in Gaza, where Palestinians have been taking shelter. Six United Nations staff members have been killed in the current conflict so far.

United Nations officials said that they had informed Israel 17 times of the precise location of the school and that there were civilians sheltering there, including once at 8:50 p.m., just hours before the attack on Wednesday.

UNRWA Christopher Gunness breaks down in tears on live TV after attack on UN school in Gaza  :(

1357 Palestinian deaths - mostly civilians

57 Israeli deaths - mostly soldiers

And the massacre continues

There was a war in the middle of the last century where an angry religious peoples declared war upon the Isreali settlers who have for generations been evicted from one land to another.  This time, the attackers lost.  Because of their insane ferocity and focused anger as a people, they were imprisoned within their own walls.  Even from within their prison, they held defiant against their guards, and to this day consistently and repeatedly promise to rid the planet of these people.  They tunnel into Isreal held territories and kidnap people, they fire rockets with no real directional control randomly, and store weapons and other dangerous things amongst their civilians, they hide within their general populace with no uniform or markings designating them a proper authority in any way.

...and they want a State; what? so they can get even better weapons from Iran??  Hmmmm.

I don't think I want any of them as my neighbor, just saying.

I really do appreciate my warm blanket at night.

Hmm, Rossman, so then any "peoples" can "settle" into any land they want as long as they have the military and monetary might to defeat the original inhabitants?
It's quite an argument to say - you drove us away in the middle of the last century, so we'll occupy your land illegally and imprison you instead.

And treat you as prisoners in your own land.
Deprive you of basic living conditions while we continue to build illegal settlements in your own land.
And no, you are not allowed to resist or claim your own land, because we'll just call you "terrorists" [we own most of the major world media, you see].

Also, we'll destroy schools, religious places and shelters protected by the United Nations as well.
We'll demolish hospitals with sick patients...and doctors.
We'll kill unarmed civilians searching for survivors in rubble [look at YouTube, you'll find videos of young lives being killed even as aid workers scream in shock]
We won't allow adequate food in your region.
We won't allow you to leave your borders.
We won't even allow you to rebuild your own homes.

And don't worry, if any celebrity even hints at supporting you, we'll silence them in minutes [Read Rihanna, Dwight Howard]

We'll kill using the most advanced weaponry in the world, we'll kill using chemical warfare.
But we'll blame you of firing primitive age hand-held rockets at us, one in a thousand [okay, maybe 700?] which will actually claim any life.
They can barely harm us anyway. We have state-of-the-art defense systems, you see, that your silly hand rockets are no match for.
We'll violate as many UN laws as possible.

It's just a matter of time before you wipe you out completely. Your median age is about 17-19 years anyway. Just shows how many of you we have killed over the years.

From 8 July to August 25, 2014 --
"Two people wounded previously died of their injuries yesterday, raising the Gaza death toll since the 8 July start of the campaign to 2,133 with 10,890 wounded.

On the Israeli side 68 people have been killed."

As for the current scenario, we'll just continue yelling that we are defending ourselves [hehe, who cares about what anyone else says ;) ]
Let any paper or YouTube state the truth, they're not going to come and fight for you.
So we'll just continue killing. Yay!

PS: "Better weapons from Iran"???
"Defiant against their guards"??? Err, wouldn't anyone fighting for their own land do that. Didn't the World War prisoners do it against the Germans? Lol

Cheers!   :D

The Jewish people have been wandering the middle east deserts for centuries, having been persecuting since before Christ, I don't think, "they just moved in";  I think these folks should stop wandering and finally settle. This persecution continued right up the the Isreali/Palestinian War of the 1950's where the Palestinians (Who started the conflict) "Lost the War". Remember The Jews didn't start the war, they finished it..... This isn't the end, it began before Christ it will continue long after you and I are gone.  The Palestinians aren't looking for peace, They're looking for the eradication of the infidels and they're Western puppets.  Give them a state and that enables them to continue their great plans of Genocide. Funny you bring up WWII.  Another place where not only the Jews were persecuted but also anyone who wasn't part of "The Greatest Race".

We truly are blessed to have a westernized life, such that we can speak our minds and have this specific conversation today, without the fear of reprisal by Governmental entities whoever they may be.
